Mahomet home sales remain strong in 2015 with a 3.8% increase in the total number of sales (220 home sales in the prior 12 months) and a 1.6% increase in total volume ($52,931,602 in total sales in the prior 12 months). The average sale price actually dipped slightly to $244,527 but the time on market dropped from 80 to 69 days compared to the same time period last year.
When we see a drop in the average sale price and a drop in the days on market it is typically due to a change in a certain price range instead of an event that has affected the overall demand. Mahomet demand remains strong and is a great option for home ownership in Champaign County.
An interesting tidbit, 15% of home sales were new construction in Mahomet (for the prior 12 months). You can look at 2% in Urbana, 6% in Champaign and 39% in Savoy for comparison.
83 Homes are for sale in Mahomet at this time with 14 closed sales and 25 pending sales in the November.
