I started this blog as a supplement to my traditional real estate site: ChampaignExperts.com
My greatest strength as a real estate professional comes from the fact that I truly enjoy educating my clients on the current conditions affecting our local market.
There are plenty of home search sites for home buyers to use and many of them do a good job of helping you view photos and basic descriptions of the homes. What seemed to be lacking was a resource to explain what was happening with home values, neighborhood demand and developments in the area. I know my writing style won’t win any awards but I hope you find helpful info and suggestions for your home search.

Background
I’ve been selling real estate (full-time) in the Champaign area since the Spring of 2004. In that time I have definitely seen highs and lows in the market as well as a lot of changes in the community. It’s been a challenging career but it can also be a lot of fun and getting to meet so many people in our community is a true perk.
My wife, Kacy, and I relocated to Champaign in 2004 after spending a few years in Chicago. We are both University of Illinois grads with Finance degrees and actually met in Chicago at our first jobs after college. We now have 2 beautiful daughters, Tessa and Lauren, and enjoy all the fun, excitement and stress that comes with great kids. Lots of stress and lots of fun…. 🙂
The most exciting thing about real estate for me is the ability to build a business that is focused on personal relationships. My team and I have big goals and we plan to reach them by providing excellent service to our clients. A great side benefit is that we get to meet so many great people along the way. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the wide variety of clients we work with and becoming good friends with many of them.
Prior to real estate I worked in structured finance for USBank. This “numbers” background has proven very helpful in reviewing local market data for my clients, explaining the “ins and outs” of various financing options and negotiating purchase offers.
I enjoy working with clients that are looking for a professional approach to the real estate transaction. My team and I pride ourselves on providing and interpreting the local market data for our clients and helping them get the most value whether buying or selling. We also feel that it needs to be a fun process and try to make that possible for everyone involved. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in let us know!
Odds and Ends
When we can, Kacy and I enjoy UofI basketball and football and all things that our kids are interested in (dance, basketball, Girl Scouts, horses, Girls on the Run, band, piano…) ! In between, I’ll try to fit in a round of golf but on a slow weekend you’ll most likely find me at home with our girls or working through a “to-do” list and getting the grill ready for dinner.
