Home Update for Cherry Hills – Champaign, IL

A Buyer’s Market?  On Tuesday, there were 16 homes listed for sale in Cherry Hills Subdivision in Southwest Champaign.  14 of these were 1 1/2 or 2 Story homes (only two Ranches).  Relating this to the market activity over the past 6 and 12 months tells us that we have a 7 1/2 month supply of homes in Cherry Hills.

Prairie Fields New Construction in Savoy, IL

Prairie Fields,  in Savoy IL, has proved to be a great neighborhood for new construction home buyers.   Lower real estate taxes than Champaign and Urbana, attractive neighborhoods and the enticement of a new Unit 4 School have all increased demand for the area. (more…)

Illinois Real Estate Market Update – May 2009

May 2009 Update

IAR (Illinois Association of Realtors) released the housing statistics for the month of May today and things are looking good in Illinois.

May real sales were up over 19% from April.  This statistic compares the number of homes sold in Illinois in the month of May to April (8945 vs 7501).  Last year May witnessed a decrease of 21% from the prior month so it is definitely nice to see the trend back up.  According to IAR’s statistics this is the 4th straight month of increases for Illinois.
